Milk price in July 2026 - the most important data

In July 2026:

  • The average purchase price of milk in Poland was 1.7217 PLN/l,
  • in June it was 1.7409 PLN/l,
  • in July 2025 it was 2.2303 z?/l,
  • month-on-month decline was 1,1%,

  • from January to July the price decreased by approximately 8,8%,
  • The highest average price in July was recorded in the province. Podlaskie,
  • the lowest in the province Pomeranian.

One more element is worth noting. According to Central Statistical Office data, purchase prices of basic agricultural products as a whole group increased by 0.2% in July compared to June. Milk behaved differently – its average price fell by 1.1%.

For milk producers, this is a signal that price pressure continues despite a slight monthly increase in the general purchase price index for agricultural products.

How will milk prices change in 2026?

Since the beginning of 2026, a clear downward trend has been visible.

Month 2026Average purchase price
January?1.89 PLN/l
February1.86 PLN/l
March1.83 PLN/l
Flower?1.83 PLN/l
May1.80 PLN/l
June1.74 PLN/l
July1.72 PLN/l

For clarity, the values in the table have been rounded to the nearest grosz. Calculations of percentage changes were based on accurate data from the Central Statistical Office.

In January, the average purchase price was PLN 1.8886/l. In July, it was PLN 1.7217/l. This means a reduction of 16.69 gr/l over seven months.

However, what is most important for the farm is not the percentage change itself, but its translation into revenue from milk sold.

This can be quickly estimated using a simple formula:

price difference in wt/l × number of liters sold in a month = difference in revenue

It's worth remembering that this is only an illustration. The price published by the Central Statistical Office is a statistical average and is not equivalent to the price received by every farm.

Milk price in July 2026 and July 2025

POLSKA lipiec 2026 03

A year-on-year comparison shows the scale of change even more clearly.

In July 2025, the average milk purchase price was 223.03 PLN/hl, That is 2.2303 z?/l.

In July 2026 it was 172.17 PLN/hl, That is 1.7217 PLN/l.

Over the course of twelve months, the price has decreased significantly. 50.86 gr/l, which corresponds to a decrease of 22,8%.

From the dairy farm's perspective, this is much more important information than the monthly drop of 1.1%. It shows how significantly the pricing environment has changed compared to the previous year.

At the same time, the Central Statistical Office data describe the level of purchase prices, not farm profitability. A specific producer's economic performance is also influenced by the costs of feeding, energy, labor, milk production per cow, and individual terms of settlement with the dairy.

Milk prices in voivodeships – where was the highest paid?

POLSKA lipiec 2026 02

Regional differences remain large. In July 2026, average purchase prices for cow's milk were as follows:

VoivodeshipMilk purchase price
Podlaskie1.84 PLN/l
Lublin Voivodeship1.75 PLN/l
Masovian Voivodeship1.74 PLN/l
Silesian1.73 PLN/l
Subcarpathia1.72 PLN/l
Warmia-Masuria1.70 PLN/l
Lower Silesia1.70 PLN/l
Opole Voivodeship1.69 PLN/l
Lesser Poland Voivodeship1.69 PLN/l
Greater Poland1.67 PLN/l
Holy Cross1.67 PLN/l
Lubusz1.66 PLN/l
West Pomeranian Voivodeship1.66 PLN/l
Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship1.63 PLN/l
Lodz Province1.61 PLN/l
Pomeranian Voivodeship1.60 PLN/l

The highest average price was recorded in Podlaskie Voivodeship - about PLN 1.84/l, and the lowest in Pomeranian Voivodeship - about PLN 1.60/l.

The difference between the extreme values is more than 23 gr/l.

This clearly demonstrates why a single "milk price in Poland" does not describe the situation of all farms. Location, recipient, and settlement terms can have a significant impact on the actual price received by the producer.

What happened between June and July?

The national average decreased from 1.7409 PLN/l in June to 1.7217 PLN/l in JulyThe exact difference is 1.92 gr/l, i.e. eye 1,1%.

The provincial summary, prepared based on monthly data, also shows that the declines were widely distributed regionally. After rounding prices to the nearest grosz, a decrease is visible in 13 voivodeships, practically no change in two, and an increase appears only in Małopolska.

This does not mean, however, that every farm in a given voivodeship received the same price change. Regional data are average values.

What does this data mean for the dairy farmer?

With the falling price of milk, controlling the elements that the farm can actually influence is becoming increasingly important.

It's not just about maximizing the number of liters. In practice, it's worth analyzing, above all, the cost of producing a liter of milk, feed utilization, herd health, culling, milk quality, and the parameters on which a given dairy bases premiums and deductions.

With the price several dozen groszy lower than a year earlier, even small differences in production costs or milk losses can have a much greater impact on the farm's results.

Therefore, in addition to observing average national prices, it is worth comparing three numbers: own selling price of milk, cost of production of one liter and the margin remaining on the farm.

The national average itself is primarily a point of reference.

How to correctly read Central Statistical Office data on milk prices?

In the publications of the Central Statistical Office it is given average purchase price of cow's milk excluding VAT.

This is not the retail price of milk in the store or a guaranteed rate for every farmer.

Voivodeship data are also average values. In accordance with the methodology used in the attached tables, average purchase prices are calculated based on information on the value and quantity of purchases carried out by entities covered by the Central Statistical Office survey.

The actual price received by a specific farm may vary due to factors such as milk parameters, supply volume, bonus system, quality requirements and conditions applicable to a specific recipient.

Therefore, it is best to use the Central Statistical Office data to observe market trend and regional differences, and not as a price list for an individual farm.

What next for milk prices in 2026?

Data until July clearly show the direction of recent months: the average milk purchase price in Poland is gradually decreasing.

This does not mean, however, that the price in August, September or at the end of the year can be reliably predicted based on the historical series alone. The Central Statistical Office publication shows that what happened on the market, but it is not in itself a prediction?.

Therefore, it is worth analyzing subsequent monthly data primarily in terms of whether the rate of decline is starting to slow down, whether the trend is continuing, and how individual voivodeships are behaving.

Ruminta will regularly update milk price lists as further data is published.
