August 2026 brought an increase in the average milk purchase price in Poland. According to data from the Central Statistical Office, the national average was PLN 1.7652 per liter, compared to PLN 1.7217/liter in July. This represents an increase of PLN 0.435/liter, or PLN 2.5% month-on-month.
After the declines observed since the beginning of the year, this is a clear sign of improvement. However, it does not yet represent a return to last year's levels. In August 2025, the average price was 2.25 PLN/l. This represents a year-on-year decline of 0.485 PLN/l, or 21.51 TP3T.

Large regional variations
The highest average milk purchase price was achieved in the Podlaskie Voivodeship – PLN 1.91/l. This is the only region where the average exceeded PLN 1.90/l. Next in line were the Masovian Voivodeship (PLN 1.78/l), the Lublin Voivodeship (PLN 1.77/l), and the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and the Silesian Voivodeship (both around PLN 1.75/l).
The lowest price was recorded in the Łódź Voivodeship – PLN 1.62/l. Slightly higher rates were recorded in the Pomeranian Voivodeship (PLN 1.63/l) and Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships (PLN 1.65/l). The difference between the highest and lowest regional prices was nearly 0.29 PLN/l.

August in the black in most voivodeships
Compared to July, prices increased in most regions. The largest increase was recorded in the Podlaskie Voivodeship – by about 0.7 groszy/l. Prices increased by about 0.5 groszy/l in the Lubusz, Warmian-Masurian, and Opole Voivodeships.
Prices remained stable in the Podkarpackie and West Pomeranian Voivodeships. No region saw a significant decline in the average milk purchase price.

Still below the level from the beginning of the year
Despite the August increase, the national average remains lower than in January 2026, when it was PLN 1.89/l. Since the beginning of the year, the price has fallen by approximately PLN 12/l, or PLN 6.5%.
The August rebound is therefore a positive development after the July low, but the milk market is still operating at a significantly lower level than a year ago. The coming months will reveal whether this increase is sustainable or just a short-term correction.
