The charts of the Central Statistical Office (GUS) show a clear and deepening downward trend milk purchase prices, which intensified at the end of 2025 and continues at the beginning of 2026.
• Sudden acceleration of declines: For most of 2025, milk prices hovered around 223–229 PLN/hl, showing only mild fluctuations. However, from October 2025 onwards, the chart shows a very steep decline line – the price dropped from PLN 220.64/hl in October to PLN 188.86/hl in January 2026.
• Negative annual dynamics: The downward trend is clearly visible in the long term. In January 2026, the milk purchase price was 17.7% lower than in the same month a year earlier (PLN 229.37/hl in January 2025 vs PLN 188.86/hl in January 2026).
• Month-on-month declines continue: The percentage change charts confirm that milk is one of the agricultural products with the highest price decline dynamics on a monthly basis – only between December 2025 and January 2026 the price decreased by 5,2%.
• Milk compared to other agricultural products: Compared to other basic agricultural products (such as beef and poultry), the price of milk has shown one of the strongest downward trends in recent months. While slaughter poultry prices in 2025 showed some increases and stabilization, the milk price chart in the last quarter drastically detached itself from the trends of other products, heading sharply downward.

To sum up, the visual data of the Central Statistical Office illustrate the situation a serious price correction in the milk market, where after a period of relative stabilization in the first half of 2025, there was a price collapse lasting continuously for four months.
