Will milk prices finally stabilize at the farm gate? Statistics Poland (GUS) data for June 2026 shows that the downward trend is still ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

National average: PLN 1.74\/l<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The average purchase price of cow's milk in Poland in June 2026 was 1.74 PLN\/l<\/strong> (PLN 174.09\/hl, excluding VAT) - that's 6 groszy less than in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highest milk price in June was recorded in the voivodeship Podlaskie \u2013 PLN 1.86\/l<\/strong>, traditionally the leader of the national ranking. The lowest placed Pomeranian and \u0141\u00f3d\u017a Voivodeships \u2013 PLN 1.62\/l each<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Month-to-month comparison<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

All 16 voivodeships recorded a price drop in June compared to May \u2013 from PLN \u22120.02\/l in the Lubelskie voivodeship to PLN \u22120.09\/l in the Podlaskie voivodeship, where the drop was most noticeable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national average dropped from PLN 1.8042\/l in May to PLN 1.7409\/l in June, i.e. by 3,5%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The broader context: first half of 2025 vs 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Comparing the first six months of both years, the average purchase price of milk decreased from PLN 2.27\/l (H1 2025) to PLN 1.83\/l (H1 2026) \u2013 a drop of almost 20%. June itself was even more pronounced: the price was lower year-on-year by 22.7%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's next?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Analysts Bank Pekao<\/strong> In their report, "Agricultural Market Under the Microscope," they estimate that the second half of 2026 will see prices stabilize at a low level. Seasonal factors should support prices slightly, but the oversupply of the commodity in Poland and across the EU limits the chances of a real rebound. PKO Bank Polski<\/strong> In its Agro Navigator, it points in a similar direction: prices will continue to be lower year-on-year in the second half of the year, although a gradual trend reversal is possible towards the end of the year if milk production begins to slow down. Credit Agricole<\/strong> is slightly more optimistic in the longer term - analysts estimate that prices have already reached their minimum, and if production in the northern hemisphere starts to decline with sustained demand, price increases are possible at the end of the third quarter, reaching as much as around PLN 2.10\/l at the end of 2026.
